We will rise back up again from here–Team Manager Mischa

Comment from Team Manager Mischa after the J. League 8th Sec match against Shimizu S-Pulse

As Urawa Reds, we should not have lost a match like the one we had today. However, we were defeated.

Despite the very hard match we had two days ago, our players played with a very strong determination today. Therefore, I cannot criticize them in this regard. Although our team led and controlled the match from the beginning, we struggled for a while to break from the sides. The team also failed to respond quickly to change sides when our opponent team tried to put pressure on.

We were aware of Shimizu S-Pulse’s intention which was to launch counter attacks by having nine of their players going back and only one remaining in the front. For this reason, we were very alert. When we lost the goal, we had two players to defend. Nonetheless, our opponent team broke free and shot the goal. Our players did their best to fight against Shimizu S-Pulse even after one of our players was sent off from the pitch. However, we were not able to achieve a good result. During the long J. League season, I guess this type of thing happens. This means we have lost two league matches in a row. But, we have enough capability to rise back up again from here. We will set off to play in the ACL from tomorrow. Thought the schedule will be hard, I am confident that we can continue to fight strongly again.
