Initiatives for SDGs by Urawa Reds
Urawa Reds have been working towards solving social issues since the MDGs (Millennium Development Goals) that preceded the SDGs through Trial management, hometown activities, and the operation of Heart-full Club and Reds Land. As a J.League club that is deeply involved in the wonderful sport of football, we will further promote our role by working towards Urawa Reds SDGs together with our partner Friends of the United Nations Asia-Pacific (hereinafter referred to as "Friends of the United Nations AP").
The core of the Urawa Reds SDGs initiative, as stated in Urawa Reds philosophy, is to "communicate the excitement and joy of sports, including soccer, foster a culture in which sports are a part of everyday life, and create a rich community and society for future generations." Strongly promoting the SDGs also means realizing our philosophy.

About composite logos
We have created a composite logo with SPORTS FOR PEACE! (hereinafter “SFP”) to express the “Urawa Reds Reds SDGs” that we are strongly promoting and the core idea. This composite logo has three elements: ``We will contribute to the community and society through soccer,'' ``Each person is a diamond,'' and ``(with the primrose, the flower of Saitama City in Saitama Prefecture), together with the community, for the community.'' I put my thoughts into it.
"Urawa Reds Reds SDGs" will be active with this composite logo.
About the definition of SPORTS FOR PEACE!
We exchanged opinions with Friends of the United Nations AP regarding the definition of SFP and agreed that "all local and social contributions made by Urawa Reds are SFP and lead to the SDGs."
The four SFP items will continue as the "SPORTS FOR PEACE! Project" as they are particularly important initiatives within the Urawa Reds SDGs.
Urawa Reds SDGs Priority Issues
"Body and mind well-being for all"
When comparing the activities that Urawa Reds have undertaken so far, such as the SFP Project, Heart-full Club, ladies team and Reds Land operation, with the SDGs, they are believed to contribute to "3. Good health and well-being for all," "4. Quality education for all," and "5. Gender equality." Going forward, we will continue to review and further improve these activities, and hope to contribute to the SDGs as a club that can provide richness of mind and body to the local community and all those associated with Urawa Reds.
"Sustainable Stadium and City"
Our club philosophy is to "communicate the excitement and joy of sports, including soccer, foster a culture in which sports are part of everyday life, and create a rich community and society for the next generation," but without a rich earth as a foundation, we cannot even play sports. Recognizing that addressing environmental issues is a highly urgent issue, we are committed to "12. Responsible Consumption and Production," while also contributing to "11. Creating a Sustainable City" through participating in hometown activities and town development rooted in the community.
"Empathic co-creation collaboration with the Reds family"
Urawa Reds has many friends, the Reds family. By working together with fans, supporters, partners, the hometown, and everyone involved with Urawa Reds to tackle the SDGs, we will be able to solve more and more problems. And I believe that in the future, a sustainable and prosperous world where we can continue to enjoy Urawa Reds, soccer, and sports is waiting for us. We will work together with the Urawa Reds family to achieve the SDGs through strong partnerships, which I believe will lead to "17. Achieve the goals through partnerships."
Going forward, each and every player and staff member will of course do their utmost to achieve this priority, and we will also work hand in hand with our many fans, supporters and stakeholders who walk the path with us, as we work to achieve the SDGs.
