Although he turns 39 this year, Urawa's guardian angel is not slowing down and is not stopping his growth. Last year, he played his 600th J1 Trial, and is within sight of the record for the most appearances (672 Trial). At 183cm tall, he is small for a modern goalkeeper, but as he said, "I want to prove that I can defend even if I'm short," he has a huge presence on the pitch. Not only does he not mind high balls, they have become his favorite food.
