Although he turns 39 this year, Urawa's guardian angel is not slowing down and is not stopping his growth. Last year, he played his 600th J1 Trial, and is within sight of the record for the most appearances (672 Trial). At 183cm tall, he is small for a modern goalkeeper, but as he said, "I want to prove that I can defend even if I'm short," he has a huge presence on the pitch. Not only does he not mind high balls, they have become his favorite food.

    J.League Best XI (2023)

A center back who boasts outstanding physical abilities, this is already his third year playing in Japan. While his defensive ability that earned him selection as a member of the J1 Best 11 in his first year with the club remains the same, last season his ball carrying ability improved and his offensive power also increased. His smart play, befitting his nickname "Prince," and his unusually passionate play will continue to support Urawa's defense this season.

He is from Higashimatsuyama, Saitama Prefecture. He showed great performances from his first year in high school, and joined Hiroshima after graduation. He has grown as he has played more and more games, and last season he contributed to Hiroshima's fight for the championship as a main player. This season, he is in his prime and has joined Urawa, playing in his hometown for the first time in nine years. His powerful running is his weapon, and it is a must-see to watch him jump out from the back and get involved in opportunities regardless of his position.

    J.League Best XI (2024)

The attacker, who has played an active role as a central player for Kashiwa, has decided to transfer after seven years in Japan. He will don the red uniform this season in pursuit of the title. Last year's J1 Best 11 winner plays at the core of the attack, cutting through the opposition's defense from under attack or on the left wing. He is not only skilled, but also highly dedicated. His switching between offense and defense is extremely sharp.

  • Genki Haraguchi

    MF

    HARAGUCHI Genki

FIFA World Cup Japan National Team (2018)

He is from Kumagaya, Saitama Prefecture. After 10 years in Germany, he returned to Urawa last September. However, due to being away from actual matches, he started in five Trial and only scored one goal, which was disappointing. In order to put pressure on himself this season and to make a comeback, he changed his jersey number to "9", the number he wore in his final year before transferring overseas. He has regained his condition and made a complete return to Urawa in both name and reality.

  • Ryoma Watanabe

He is from Higashimatsuyama, Saitama Prefecture. "I don't care where I play as long as I can play in Trial. That's the determination I'm here with," he said. Last season, he worked hard regardless of his position, from fullback to the center of the second row, left or right, to defensive midfielder, and recorded the highest total running distance in the league. In just his second year with the team, he is already a force to be reckoned with for Urawa.

  • Takahiro Sekine

    MF

    SEKINE Takahiro Sekine

    Birthday

    Place of birth/nationality
Tsurugashima City, Saitama Prefecture / Japan / HG

Born in Tsurugashima City, Saitama Prefecture. A veteran who is in his 11th season with Urawa after an overseas transfer, he reaffirms his determination, saying, "It will be a challenging year in order to survive." Due to personnel balance, he will play mainly as a right back this season, but he is determined to fight for the team, saying, "I think the key is whether I can fill that position, and I want to play well enough to be able to say that we don't need reinforcements (in defense)."
