We are currently in a right stream-Team Manager Petrovic

Comment from Team Manager Petrovic the day before the J. League 20th Sec match against Vissel Kobe

First of all, I would like to say that losing Naoki Matsuda at the age of thirty four is such a tragedy not only for his family but for the Japanese soccer world. It is truly sad for everyone including his family, relatives and friends that the player referred to as “Mr Marinos” when he played for Yokohama F-Marinos passed away. I would like to offer my sincerest prayer for the repose of his soul. When we are struck by a sad event like this, we suffer from deep sorrow. However, we must go on. I believe it is necessary for us to change our mind set and perform our duty.

In regards to our next opponent Vissel Kobe, I think it will be a matter of chemistry. Looking at the League match records alone, our team lost against Kobe four times in the row in the past. We lost our opening match this year against Kobe with the result of 0 to1. We performed quite well in reality. However, our team lost in the end. We also lost our last year’s final League match against them by a large margin in our home stadium. We must have bad chemistry. I think Kobe is a very tough team for us to play against.
However, having said that, I believe we can reverse such trend tomorrow. Kobe will be the one to pay the big price this time. Our supporters support for us in the home stadium will be of great assistance to us tomorrow. We will win the match tomorrow by keeping our good momentum which we have been enjoying over the last few weeks. There is no doubt that tomorrow’s match will also be of great importance to us. Looking at the data we have, our team lost only once in the past 16 matches. We have not lost at all in the past nine matches. We scored 13 goals while losing only 4 during that time. The team did not lose in 6 matches in a row before we played against Shimizu S-Pulse. The team lost only once in the past 16 matches. Therefore, looking at the data, it is possible to say that we are moving out of the difficult situation we were going through. I believe we are currently in a right stream.
