The day before the J. League Thirty first Sec.-Team Manager Finke

Comment from Team Manager Volker Finke on the day before the 2009 season J. League Thirty First Sec. against FC Tokyo

First of all, I would like to touch upon the situation of our players with injuries. Unfortunately, Naoki Yamada has not been able to recover in time. As for Robson Ponte, he has now been suspended. To my regret, Horinouchi also has to leave the team for now due to injury. He has always contributed a lot to the team through his valuable performances. On top of that, he is capable of playing in many different positions. However, the good news is that Tulio now can join the team to play together in tomorrow’s match after successfully going through the past two weeks of training.
Since Keita’s injury is worse than I thought, I am thinking to introduce Tulio as a starting line-up member at the moment. But, I am not sure if he can play a full match tomorrow. Hosogai was also away from team training for several days. However, his condition is gradually improving. As such, I think his condition is better this time than it was in the previous match.
As for Nobuhisa Yamada, as you all are aware, one of his family members has had influenza. For this reason, he did not participate in the team training for a few days just to be on the safe side so that other players would not be at risk of catching influenza. Nonetheless, he managed to join the team again in time. He will join the team tomorrow as well. He will at least sit on the bench with the team tomorrow.
I would like to send players in better condition and with good stamina onto the pitch tomorrow. This is because our opponent tomorrow plays excellent soccer with all players in every position having good stamina. They have been doing really well over the last few matches. For this reason, I think they play with strong confidence. Even though the situation surrounding us is as I depicted, we would like to do our best so that we can play as one on the pitch tomorrow and have a good result.
