Team Manager Mischa - press conference after the match against Ventforet Kofu

Comment from Team Manager Mischa after the Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company J. League 2nd Stage 5th Sec match against Ventforet Kofu

It is regrettable that we finished the match with a draw as we had to win this match. Just like the matches we played against Sanfrecce Hiroshima and Nagoya Grampus, our players created many opportunities by controlling the match today. However, we finished the match with a draw as our opponent team nailed the narrow chances they created even though we hardly allowed them to create such chances. Considering how hard our players played and how much effort they put into the match, it was very painful that the match ended in a draw. The only thing we were lacking today was not being able to nail the chances we created.

I know there is a period like we are going through right now over the course of a long soccer season. It happens when playing soccer that players continue to struggle to make the most of the chances they create while their opponent team players keep nailing the one chance they create. I guess we have reached the period where what we are doing doesn’t bring positive outcomes. However, what our players are doing is great and they are playing fantastic soccer. As a matter of fact, our players are the ones who are most disappointed by the drawn result.

After finishing today’s match, we will have a two-week break. I must bring our players’ emotions back to normal. Our players performed their best and put everything they had into the match today. All they were missing was not being able to nail the scoring chances they created. I regard everything else they did as great. I don’t wish them to react too nervously to the results but hope that they continue to observe their soccer closely and keep playing their own soccer. It is my responsibility that our players were not able to make the most of their decisive opportunities.

What we aim to achieve is not so far away. We achieved our first objective of winning the title of the first stage. Our objective now is to win the title of the second stage or the entire season. As for winning this year’s season, Sanfrecce Hiroshima is leading us only by three points and we are not lagging too behind. We will move forward firmly as one without losing the goal we wish to achieve.
