Team Manager Mischa - press conference after the match against Albirex Niigata

Comment from Team Manager Mischa after the Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company J. League 2nd stage 15th sec match against Albirex Niigata

Today’s match turned out to be a very tough one as we had expected. Albirex Niigata needed to win the match to get points to remain in the J1 league and so did we in order to secure a chance to win the annual league title. Both teams clashed against each other with these important goals in mind. In addition to this, Albirex Niigata was a strong team. I don’t think their current ranking in the J. League standings reflects the quality of their team. After having played against them today, I was able to reconfirm that they are a great team. For this reason, the match turned out to be a very challenging one.

Both teams performed fantastically today. Both of us fought fiercely to win the battle without giving up until the last moment.

Urawa Reds played a number of official matches without any break since the opening of the season in February. They had to play today’s match with fatigue as they had just recently played the 120 minute Levain Cup final match. On the other hand, Albirex Niigata had a good rest and a good training camp over the past three weeks to prepare well for the match. Playing against such a team was very tough for our team. However, our players played with a strong determination to win and this had led to our victory today. I would like to commend their fighting spirit as their team manager.
