Our players will be tested on their ability to perform what they must do to win – Team Manager Mischa

Comment from Team Manager Mischa the day before the Yamazaki Nabisco Cup Preliminary League 7th Sec match against Nagoya Grampus

Tomorrow’s match will be a difficult match for us not only because we will play against a formidable team such as Nagoya Grampus but also due to our current condition. We have already managed to get through the Nabisco Cup preliminaries and tomorrow’s match will be our 20th official match to play. Our team members are suffering from fatigue and it will be difficult for them to maintain high motivation.

As for Nagoya Grampus, it is imperative for them to win against us in order for them to get through the preliminaries. There is no doubt that they will come to the stadium with a very strong determination to win. I told our players during our meeting today that tomorrow’s match will provide us with a good opportunity to be tested on how well we can perform what we plan to execute to win the match under our current circumstance. The match will also be a good opportunity for me to see how well our players can perform even though they are playing what can be regarded as a throwaway match. Tomorrow’s match will be Genki’s last match as an Urawa Reds player as well. It is often the case in the soccer world that teams lose matches under such a circumstance we face tomorrow. However, I trust that our players will play with strong motivation to win tomorrow’s match under our current condition.
