Comment of the Gert Engels(Team-Manager)
“Today’s game was a game fought between top teams. It was a very tough but quite an interesting game. Obviously, everyone knows that the opponent team has good defence and we were certainly aware of that. If we were able to score a goal before the opponent team would have done so, then there would have been no choice for the opponent team but to come forward rather than keep on defending. For that reason, I wanted to play today’s game like that. We were playing the game at a similar pace up until around 10 minutes into the game, but things had improved and we were playing at our own pace from that point onwards. We were able to control the game in the opponent’s side of the field. There were a few moments where we could have scored some goals after gaining the ball from the opponent players. There also was a moment when we were not nearly offside. It was a good development for our side. In the second half of the game, I encouraged our team players to be more aggressive especially as we were playing the game at our home ground. However, at the same time, it was absolutely not a good idea if we felt rushed by today’s opponent. In the end, we managed to control the game and we were able to play in the opponent side of the field. But, if you cannot score goals, you cannot win games. Obviously, the game did not end with a good result being 0 to 0. However, when two top teams with the same points in the standings fight against each other, the game could end in a draw. Therefore, it is not to say that either we added or lost a point to our standings. Today’s result was not the best for us. But, looking at the entire game we played today, it was not too bad.”
