I wish to commend my players for conquering a difficult match-Team Manager Mischa

Comment from Team Manager Mischa after the J. League 25th Sec match against Yokohama F-Marinos

I would like to have a little rest here before I make comments (lol). I worked about 300 meters for the SkyperfecTV’s flash interview. Then, I had to climb up stairs for this interview. I am a little worn out (lol). But, I am fine. So, let us start.

We had such a terrible beginning for the first half of the match. In the past, we often played really well for the first half and were not able to play our style of soccer in the second half. However, it was different today as we had a terrible beginning. Our players seemed somewhat frightened to start the match. For this reason, we lost the first goal which made the match difficult to play.

Our opponent was leading the match by one goal point and their defense players were blocking our players in a six back formation. As such, I guess it was not easy for our players to attack the opponent. Since our team lost the first goal, our players found it difficult to play our own game. With our opponent team’s six back formation together with their remaining four players playing behind the center line, our players struggled.

Our team had to make attacks against Marquinhos, Ono, Saito and Nakamura who are all well known in the J. League for their dangerous attacks. The situation was advantageous for our opponent as they led the match with the result of zero to one. In this situation, our players had to carry the ball forward from behind. For example, when Abe, Nagata and Makino created several good opportunities from behind, our opponent team had no choice but to respond to such situations. When our opponent players had to repeat such situations often, they missed out once in a while. Our players deliberately created such moments to break free. I thought our team started play calmly from about 20 minutes into the match.

I would like to commend my players. They were able to play their own style of soccer with dangerous attacks from 20 minutes into the match despite the very difficult situation they had. As a result, they were able to come back from behind to win the match. There was no doubt that it was a difficult match for them. But, they conquered the match in the end. For this, I would like to praise my players.
