The season we had was not a negative one – Team Manager Mischa

Comment from Team Manager Mischa after the J.League 34th Sec match against Nagoya Grampus

We had expected this match to be a very difficult one. During our previous matches we lost against Gamba Osaka after 88 minutes into the match and Sagan Tosu caught up to us at the very end of the match at 94 minutes. Today’s match was certainly not an easy one for us to play after experiencing two emotionally draining matches.

Though this was the case, our team was able to lead the match by scoring a goal at an early stage during the first half of the match. Under ordinary circumstances, the team would have been able to play the match in a calm manner after being ahead of their opponent team at an early stage. However, our team became too cautious after scoring the goal.

Our team was not at ease when building up their attacks. Our players could not build up their style of attacks perhaps because they were too cautious or too much under pressure. Nevertheless, our players ran and fought through by showing their strong determination to win.

However, our opponent team caught up with us from a corner kick and our team lost their balance in the rear when they tried to make aggressive attacks. Our team lost another goal very painfully from a counter attack by making a mistake.

Just like the past two matches towards the end of the season, we lost today’s match despite our good performance. We had such a costly consequence. Since Gamba Osaka finished the match against Tokushima Vortis with a 0 to 0 draw, had we won the match today, we would have won the league title. For this reason, we had such a painful loss today. However, I trust the season we had was not a negative one throughout the year.
