Team Manager Tsuyoshi Otsuki – Press Conference after the Match against Cerezo Osaka

Comment from Team Manager Otsuki after the J. League YBC Levain Cup Group Stage 2nd Sec Match against Cerezo Osaka

We came to an away ground with the plan to play a solid game throughout the 90 minutes and tried to crack the last door. However, we were not able to fulfill our objective today. We lost a goal and it turned out to be a quite difficult match.

Questions and Answers

Q: I thought the team started the match with a good defense and battled well in the opponent side of the pitch a few times during the first half of the match today.

A: We were able to execute what we had aimed to do a number of times today. However, it was a pity that we failed to make the most of those opportunities we had created in the end. But, we had managed to perform what we planned to achieve a few times.

Q: Today’s match was the professional debut match for Hidetoshi Takeda. How do you evaluate his efforts to date and his performance today?

A: I put him into the match when I did in order to add some strength to our team with the intention to throw our opponent team off balance. I wanted him to pull out his strength such as threading a penetrating pass to his teammates from his position. Though he tried to fulfill the objective, it was unfortunate that his attempt didn’t work out. Nonetheless, I put him into the match to do a good job today.

Q: What is his strength?

A: Takeda has a good sense around the ball. He can find good space and kicks brilliantly well with his left foot.
