Team Manager Oswaldo Oliveira – press conference after the match against Sanfrecce Hiroshima

Comment from Team Manager Oliveira after the Meiji Yasuda J1 League 18th Sec match against Sanfrecce Hiroshima

We had good luck going for us as well for today’s match. During the first half of the match, we did better than our opponent team and were able to score a goal. We had the ball in our possession and were able to press our opponent to the goal area by controlling the game.

As for the second half of the match, Sanfrecce Hiroshima rectified their approach and had marked our team well. As a result, we had the difficulty of moving the match in a good formation and Sanfrecce created many decisive moments. However, we gradually managed to execute what we had been practicing through our training. We created good opportunities from counter attacks and had scored a few more goals to achieve the fantastic result.

Questions and Answers
Q: During the second half of the match, you introduced Abe and changed the team’s system after Sanfrecce Hiroshima created a decisive opportunity for themselves. What was your aim?

A: Sanfrecce Hiroshima is the team that can connect the ball amongst themselves well. As this was the case, we were not able to break their pattern in the second half. For this reason, I put Abe into the team who has a good sense in terms of breaking such a pattern. As a result, I was able to position Kashiwagi closer to the front line to gradually create the system we wanted.
