Team Manager Mischa - press conference after the match against Yokohama F. Marinos

Comment from Team Manager Mischa after the Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company J. League 1st Stage 6th Sec match against Yokohama F. Marinos

First of all, I would like to say that both teams played a fantastic match today. We battled hard around the ball and we played the match in swift tempo. Our team lost the ball dangerously a few times during the first half of the match and we received counter attacks as a result. Our player Shusaku (Nishikawa) stopped the first counter attack but our opponent team nailed their second one against us. We used to receive more counter attacks by moving forward too much when our opponent team took the lead in the match in the past. However, our team has recently been able to play our style of soccer and make attacks by controlling the match even when our opponent team takes the lead. I trust that such a performance helped us to come from behind during the first half of the match today.

Our team entered half time with the leading result of two to one. I told my team during the half time break that we must aim to make swift attacks as our opponent would likely to pressure us from the front by taking some risks. We discussed that we must aim to score additional goals by attacking the space created at the back rather than trying to keep the two to one result. I thought that our players followed what we aimed to achieve. Our team created some great opportunities to score goals by making counter attacks. However, we were not able to score another goal as we lacked precision when making last passes or goal kicks.

Our opponent team tried to make long shots during the last ten minutes of the match. But, our team was able to kick the ball back firmly and we managed to win the match in the end with the result of two to one. Our players played the match with a strong determination to win today and they did well in terms of their stamina, movements around the ball as well as the team’s discipline. The only criticism is the lack of precision in their last movements. I am confident that our players are capable of raising the precision of their last passes and goal kicks. We are an aggressive team and I constantly request our team to work on these points. I will address these points by talking through them with our players during training.
