Team Manager Mischa - press conference after the match against Vissel Kobe

Comment from Team Manager Mischa after the Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company J. League 2nd Stage 17th Sec match against Vissel Kobe

Looking back on our previous record, I thought playing our final sec match in our home stadium was something we had issues with. We lost our final sec home match two years ago and we were defeated particularly painfully in our final sec match last year. We were leading the match against our opponent Nagoya Grampus to win the title until 72 minutes into the match. Given the fact that Gamba Osaka finished their match with a draw against Tokushima Vortis at that time, if nothing had happened, we could have won the title last year. However, our team lost the match with the score of one to two in the end and we were mortified by the result. With such a history, our team played the match today with past years’ scar.

Judging how our team played today, I can divide the match into three parts rather than first and second halves.

As for the first thirty minutes into the match, our players performed really well. They started the match with a very strong motivation to win and they displayed their strengths during the first thirty minutes. Our team led the match with the score of three to zero and created many more scoring opportunities which could have been utilized.

However, when our opponent team scored a goal, the match unfolded with our players being somewhat unstable. Even during the second half of the match, our players struggled to show their strength as time passed by. As a result, they lost another goal and the result became three to two.

However, our players regained themselves and played their style of soccer during the last thirty minutes of the match. For this reason, I think our players performed well by exhibiting their strength for sixty minutes of the match. Though, they didn’t perform well for the middle thirty minutes.

Looking at our team’s future ahead, we will face some difficulties if we are not able to play our style of soccer in a very well organized manner throughout the mid part of matches.

As for the atmosphere of our home stadium today, it was fantastic. So many supporters bolstered our team until the very end of the match. During today’s match, a total of seven goals were scored by the two teams. I trust our spectators were also able to see some interesting attacks during the match besides those goals scored. I believe those who watched the match were satisfied today.
