Team Manager Mischa - press conference after the match against Sanfrecce Hiroshima

Comment from Team Manager Mischa after the Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company J. League 2nd stage 13th sec match against Sanfrecce Hiroshima

Firstly, I wish to note that the performance of players from both teams during today’s match is worthy of appraisal. They played fascinating soccer in very hot and humid weather despite the fatigue they must have had by playing in the heat of summer. The match they played was fantastic and I believe it was a very interesting match for spectators to watch.

As for our team, we started well today. However, we were not able to make the most of the chances we had created. In the past, we would have lost a goal or two and finished the match defeated.

Our team allowed Sanfrecce’s Mikić to make attacks against us from the left side and gave them a penalty kick opportunity. It was understandable if they led the match as a result. However, since Sanfrecce Hiroshima didn’t nail the penalty kick, our team was able to play the rest of the match in a calm manner. Had they made the most of the penalty kick opportunity they were presented with, today’s match might have unfolded differently and had Sanfrecce Hiroshima led the match, our team would have struggled a lot more.

Both teams created several opportunities to score. However, it was us, Urawa Reds, that managed to make the most of such chances in the end. In this regard, our team’s performance was worthy of the victory we had. Having said that, both tems played a fantastic game, therefore either team could have won the match or we could have finished the match with a draw.
