Team Manager Mischa - press conference after the match against Omiya Ardija

Comment from Team Manager Mischa after the Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company J. League 2nd stage 4th sec match against Omiya Ardija

Today’s match marked our third match we have played over the past week. Our players did a great job in challenging weather conditions. We had a good game.
During the first half of the match, we were in the lead after we scored the first goal from a free kick. However, we lost a goal during additional time from a corner kick and we finished the first half with a draw. As for the second half of the match, we often had the ball in our possession and were able to control the match to wage attacks against our opponent team.

Having said that, we had a slightly open match during the second half. Our opponent players were fresher than us whereas our players were suffering from fatigue. However, even under such a circumstance, our players worked hard to create good opportunities and had decisive moments to score more goals. As a result, our team managed to score another goal and led the match with a result of two to one.
After our team was leading the match, our team was caught up again by our opponent as our opponent team scored their second goal. But, I had a question mark regarding the play leading up to this. I am not suggesting that it should have been treated as a penalty kick. However, the fact of the matter was that since Ugajin fell in the penalty area, the space where he should have been was unmarked. This gave the opportunity to our opponent team to utilize the space effectively to score their second goal.
After this happened, our players continued to try to create good opportunities. There were several moments where they could have nailed and scored more goals such as when Kashiwagi and Zlatan attempted to score a goal with their head shots and Muto’s goal kick was slightly off and missed the goal. Unfortunately, we were not able to make the most of such opportunities and finished the match with a draw today. For this reason, while we had a good game, I am not satisfied with the result. We really wanted to win today’s match no matter what.
Many of our fans and supporters came to the stadium today to create a good atmosphere for the derby match. We really wanted to win the match today but we finished with a draw. I feel terribly sorry for our fans and supporters for not being able to finish the match with a victorious result today. However, I was able to see that our players did their best until the very last moment by putting all they had into the match. We will start to prepare ourselves well for our next match by putting our chins up again.
