Team Manager Mischa – press conference after the match against Shanghai SIPG F.C.

Comment from Team Manager Mischa after the ACL Group Stage MD3 match against Shanghai SIPG F.C.

Comment from Team Manager Mischa
During the first half of the match, our players didn’t perform well as if they were a little afraid of passing the ball around. Shanghai SIPG F.C. had a better start to the match and they were putting pressure on us. With regard to the second goal we lost, it was caused by our mistakes. Our opponent team was outperforming us during the first half.

As for the second half, we replaced two of our players and deployed a formation to wage more attacks in order to catch up with our opponent. As the match progressed, one of the opponent players, Hulk, got a long ball. Our three players had tried to take the ball away from him. However we lost our third goal as a result of our players not being able to respond to this situation effectively. After the match score reached three to zero, Shanghai SIPG F.C. was presented with another opportunity to score another goal with Wu Lei. However, the ball he kicked with an attempt to score their fourth goal was intercepted nicely by Nishikawa. From then onwards, we had been able to control the match by moving the ball around the pitch and created a few opportunities to score a goal.

We had managed to score two goals to have the result of three to two. Had we had a little more time or had we been able to make ourselves more aggressive, we might have had the chance to catch up with our opponent. However, we couldn’t do that today. Looking back at the overall match today, I trust the performance of Shanghai SIPG F.C. was worthy of today’s victory.
