Team Manager Mischa – pre-match press conference the day before the match against Yokohama F. Marinos

Comment from Team Manager Mischa the day before the Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company J. League first stage 6th match against Yokohama F. Marinos

If you recall our away match against Yokohama F. Marinos last year, you’ll know how highly motivated they are to play against us and that our team always finds it difficult to play a good match against them. Our terrible defeat in that away match with the result of zero to four warns us of the challenging match ahead of us. We won’t be victorious if we fail to run well for the entire 90 minutes and are not determined to win the match. We must maintain good stamina and be disciplined and strong around the ball as well as have a strong desire to win the match like we did when we played against Guangzhou Evergrande.

It is important for us to be fully recovered, both physically and emotionally, from our match against Guangzhou Evergrande to be ready for tomorrow’s match. Those players who are ready will be the ones to play in the match tomorrow.

I believe that one of our opponent players, Shunsuke Nakamura, is in really good shape right now. Considering his age, it is admirable that he can run so much, have good control of the ball, develop the game well and perform so decisively. Though I am not the team manager of his team, I would like to commend him for his performance. However, for this very reason, we must be very careful about him. We must keep him away from the goal. As he is capable of executing highly accurate free kicks, it will be crucial for us not to commit fouls near the goal area.
