Our players tried their best to win the match – Team Manager Mischa

Comment from Team Manager Mischa after the Yamazaki Nabisco Cup 2nd quarterfinal match against Sanfrecce Hiroshima

We are very much disappointed by today’s match result. In the world of soccer, a team which performed better than their opponent team does not necessary win the match. I feel this was what happened to our team today. I believe that our team played better than our opponent team on the pitch and our performance was more deserving to advance to the next round. However, our team unfortunately must leave the Yamazaki Nabisco Cup after today’s match result of a two to two draw.

Our team tried their best to seize a victory during today’s match. I cannot criticize such players. The reason for our team’s defeat today was that we were not able to score one more goal to win the match even though we created so many scoring opportunities. Our team lost the Yamazaki Nabisco Cup after playing in the quarterfinal. Now, we must put this behind us and concentrate on our upcoming J. League matches during our training in the coming week and prepare well for our next match against Shimizu S-Pulse.
