Aiming for home victory against Kawasaki

We are having a good run with 3 consecutive league game wins and winning the Yamazaki Nabisco Cup game against Vissel Kobe. We are looking to extend this run in our next game against Kawasaki Frontale which will be held at Saitama Stadium at 4 pm on 18th April.

Currently we are 2nd in the table with 4 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss after finishing the 6th game. It is exactly the same as how we did last season.

However, Team Manager Finke is definitely feeling the difference. He mentioned the team’s improvement as “As a whole, the quality of our play improved”.

On the other hand, our opponent Kawasaki Frontale also has the same number of points from 6 games. The only difference is the number of goals scored. As such, the teams are fairly matched.

The strong point of Frontale lies in their attack. From the opening game to the 6th game, their star players Juninho and Kengo Nakamura have not been available due to injury. However, Nakamura made his return to the squad for the AFC Champions League game held on 14th April. If Nakamura plays in the next game, it will be his first league game this season. Without doubt, his return will give his team a boost in morale.

Another big star is Junichi Inamoto. The experienced midfielder who has played for 7 teams in Europe over the last 9 seasons is good at winning the ball. His other strength is his speed in turning defence into attack. The team’s 2 strikers Renatinho and Chong Tese who have great skills and speed are among the best strikers in the J.League. We have to be on our toes when playing against them.

Reds have faced Frontale in the league 10 times in total. So far our result is 4 wins, 3 draws and 3 losses, showing how evenly the teams are matched.

It is very interesting to note that both teams have difficult time at home but are strong at away. Frontale has won the past 3 games against us at Saitama Stadium. We shall not let this happen again.

Looking back at the latest game against Vissel held on 14th April, we equalized with a Naohiro Takahara’s goal despite the fact Vissel scored first. Yuki Abe who played the full 90 minutes in the last 6 games including a national match against Serbia has been in great form. He has scored 4 goals from the 3 games. Edmilson who is in also in good form also found the net for the first time in 4 games. The teamwork has been improving as we have more games. It is worth to watch them play at Saitama Stadium.

After the Vissel game, Team Manager expressed his happiness. “We had strong mentality and were able to play for the same goal as a team.”

As the players will receive strong support from the supporters at home, it is a good chance for the players to demonstrate their strong mentality. We would like to get all 3 points and demonstrate the team’s progress by winning the next game against Frontale.
