We regret our defeat but our battles will continue–Team Manager Mischa

Comment from Team Manager Mischa after the Emperor’s Cup third round match against Montedio Yamagata

It was such a pity that we lost the match. However, something like this happens in soccer. Since Montedio Yamagata had many players who played in the J1 before, we didn’t expect this match to be an easy one. Though we had some young players playing in our team today, they were playing on a par with experienced players. So, I didn’t think our team’s performance was inferior to that of our opponent team. Urawa Reds players played the match with the aim to win the title. I gave my thoughts to how we could survive and remain in good condition while playing in a series of matches in the Yamazaki-Nabisco and Emperor’s Cups as well as the J. League match. Today’s defeat may create a negative atmosphere within the team. However, I believe that our players will not see today’s defeat negatively. I trust that our team players will psych themselves up after today’s loss. While we regret our defeat, we can also learn from today’s loss. Though we were not able to achieve a good result today, our team’s battle will continue. We must continue to fight through together as a united team.
