Tomorrow’s match will be the last successive match over a short period and will be of extreme importance–Team Manager Mischa

Comment from Team Manager Mischa the day before the J. League 24th Sec match against Albirex Niigata

Tomorrow’s game will be a difficult one. Until now, I have tried to avoid putting unnecessary pressure on my team. However, I told them today that tomorrow’s match will be a very important one which will decide our future. This is because I regard the match as the last successive match we will have to play in a short period of time. After tomorrow’s match, we will have a less busy match schedule and we will be able to afford more time for training between each match. So, I regard tomorrow’s match as a very crucial match for us.

As for our previous match against Yokohama F-Marinos, we were not able to pull out what we had aimed to achieve until 60 minutes into the match. While we have had to address those issues, since there are only two days between matches and not enough time for training, we decided to make improvements through having meetings with our players.

Regarding Albirex Niigata, I regard them as the team which has delivered the most tangible results in the J. League over this successive match period in the hot summer heat. They have been fighting hard to stay out of possible relegation and now have emerged from the bottom to be in the middle of the standings. I think this highlights the fact that they are in a positive condition.

Since Albirex Niigata won their last two matches against Kawasaki Frontale and Jubilo Iwata, they will come to the stadium with confidence. While they have nothing to lose, we have to play under a lot of pressure. We did not have enough momentum when we played against Yokohama F-Marinos. However, we cannot execute our style of soccer if we do not run around the pitch. For this reason, our success will depend on how well we can keep up with our strength. Though our team has not performed well when we have had a series of matches over a short period of time, we have no choice but to fight through as a united team after all. I think this is the time for us to stand on our feet strong.
