Team Manager Tsuyoshi Otsuki – press conference after the match against Oita Trinita

Comment from Team Manager Otsuki after the Meiji Yasuda J1 League 17th sec match against Oita Trinita
We have completed the first half of the season since we have finished playing the 17th sec match though our team has played one less match. We now have the second half of the season to go through. I want our team to fight back well in our home match.

Questions and Answers

Q: Many of the players who played in today’s match were different from those who played in the previous match against Ulsan Hyundai FC. How do you evaluate the performance of the starting members who played in the match today?

A: They had both positive and negative aspects that they both fulfilled well and those that they didn’t in terms of executing what we had planned to achieve. For those points they did well, I want to point them out to our players clearly and for the points they couldn’t do well, we need to address during our training.

Q: It looks as though the players couldn’t put themselves in full gear until the end of the match today. Do you think they were affected by the fact that they had to play their last two matches over a short period of time?

A: I don’t think that had much to do with their performance today. I am not sure if they were not in full gear. I think the impression may be different depending on the people who watched their performance. I thought our players were rather lacking in quality and failed to execute what we aimed to express. What I mean by quality is that our team was not able to move themselves forward against our opponent. I would like to review today’s match by going through the video footage again.
