Team Manager Mischa - press conference after the match against Cerezo Osaka

Comment from Team Manager Mischa after the Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company J. League 2nd sec match against Cerezo Osaka

Firstly, I am pleased that we have been through the challenging marathon of playing five matches over the last two week period.

I had expected today’s match to be a very tough and challenging one since any team that returns from J2 to J1 would have a strong sense of determination and high motivation to win. This is especially the case when they play against us Urawa Reds. For this reason, we predicted the match to be a very difficult one. However, our players pulled out a marvelous performance by playing aggressively from the get go. They were very quick in their movements after they lost the ball and they didn’t allow our opponent team to make dangerous counters against us. They were successful in eliminating the chances of our opponent players to wage attacks against us. In addition, our players had managed to score several goals.

Our players had played the type of match we had aimed to play until 60 minutes into the match. After that, they started to show their fatigue and they struggled a little to play the type of match we were after. Nonetheless, they did their best to run and play hard until the very end of the match. Looking back at the overall match, I trust our team’s performance was worthy of the victory.
