Our players put more than what they have into every match-Team Manger Mischa

Comment from Team Manager Mischa after the J. League 20th Sec match against FC Tokyo

We played really well during the first half of the match. As a result, we managed to score the first goal. However, our players started to lose their stamina during the second half of the match. Our opponent gradually pressed us and we finished the match with a draw by losing two points.

In regards to the moment when our opponent player touched the ball in the penalty area, I thought it would have been appropriate to play a penalty kick. During half time, I told my team that we need to be aware that finishing the first half of the match by 2 to 0 could be dangerous. Unfortunately, they lost their energy to score another goal in the second half.

However, having said all this, I regard the result of 2 to 2 a positive thing. I think FC Tokyo has some of the best players in the J1 League who have great quality and bring victories to their team. On top of that, FC Tokyo has strengthened their team even further during this season. Considering their background, I think they should be one of the top teams in the standings this season. Our team finished the match with a tied result against such an opponent team. Let alone we out played them during the first half of the match. For this reason, I do not feel negative about today’s result.

Over the last 20 matches, our players put more than what they have into every match. Since this was the case, our team players started to lose their stamina and to be pressed by our opponent team. I understand how difficult it must have been for my players in this sense. The path we must follow is very clear. All we have to do is to move forward in the right direction to achieve our goal. We may be able to attain something big during this season. Either way, we will fight together by exerting our utmost efforts to achieve our goal. With today’s match result, we now have not lost 11 consecutive matches. I do not think many teams are in the same position in the J1 League in this regard. The team which was struggling to remain in the J1 League last season is now ranked third or fourth in the standings. This proves the fact that our players are doing well. Not me, but our players. The record shows that Urawa Reds players are doing their best. At any rate, we will continue to do our best together with the members of the team.
