We played aggressively both in our defense and offense–Team Manager Mischa

Comment from Team Manager Mischa after the J. League 29th Sec match against Kashima Antlers

First of all, I would like to point out that it is extremely important for Japanese soccer to have Urawa Reds and Kashima Antlers as well as other great teams remaining at the top in the standings to play against each other in the closing weeks of the J. League season. As was evident from the great atmosphere in the stadium, so many fans and supporters came to see the match today which created a fantastic mood for us to play. Our players are very fortunate to be able to play in such a great atmosphere.

Today’s match was such a tough match to play as both Urawa Reds and Kashima Antlers are fighting for the chance to win the title since both teams are currently ranked third and fourth in the standings. I thought both teams’ players played a fantastic game today. But, our player’s performance was more deserving of the victory. We played aggressively both in our defense and offense. Our team’s performance was superior to that of Kashima Antlers until we scored the second goal. However, after that, it was unclear whether our players were aiming to finish the match with the result of two to zero or still trying to win a few more goals. The game took a crucial turn towards the end after we lost a goal against the opponent. Having said that, looking at the match as a whole, our aggressive play style led the team to achieve a deserved victory.
