We must raise the level of the team-Team Manager Mischa

Comment from Team Manager Mischa after the J. League Yamazaki Nabisco Cup qualifying round Fifth Sec match against Sagan Tosu

I knew the match we would play here today would be a challenging one. We also knew that Sagan Tosu had not lost past home matches and they were a very formidable team when playing home matches. In regard to the first half of the match, our team was not making aggressive attacks. Sagan Tosu was not making aggressive attacks either. For this reason, both teams were careful in their approaches in playing the match during the first half of the match. I thought we were not making many high quality longitudinal passes nor taking the ball from behind. We often failed to be in the better position during the first half. As for the first loss, we lost the goal against Sagan Tosu’s throw-in after they made the special attack. After the opponent scored the first goal, our team’s performance started to get better by taking more risks to make more attacks. As a result, our team was able to catch up with the opponent.

After we caught up with Sagan Tosu, our team had made several great opportunities to reverse the score. However, we lost another goal in a shameful way. The goal we lost was too good to be lost. Nevertheless, I would like to congratulate Sagan Tosu for winning the match. We will continue to train ourselves hard to beat our mistakes and improve. We will work hard to raise the level of the team.
