We executed a good start with well-balanced attacks–Team Manager Mischa

Comment from Team Manager Mischa after the J. League 22nd Sec match against Shimizu S-Pulse

We had a very good start to the match. Our team was able to execute well-balanced attacks against our opponent team by utilizing the side and center space of the pitch during the first half of the match. I believe Shimizu S-Pulse had quite difficult moments as they were not able to occupy the space in the center when they were playing on the side or vice visa. We built up our attacks in a very calm manner. We led the first half of the match effectively by using the side and back space when our opponent team came to the front line to deal with our attacks.

During the half time break, we discussed that Shimizu S-Pulse would wage more aggressive attacks against us as we led the game. I told my team to keep a tight defense and use the back space effectively when opponent players come to the front line.

Though we had a few good moments to make counter attacks from our defense, we still need to improve our final passes and timings.

Generally speaking, players tend to win a match by executing good defense. However, they should proactively aim to score goals when there are some good chances to do so. This is something for us to address.
