We are definitely going in the right direction-Team Manager Mischa

Comment from Team Manager Mischa after the J. League 29th Sec match against Vegalta Sendai

As you all had been aware, today’s match was a very important match for both teams.
Though our team lost the first goal right after the match started, our team players performed in a calm manner after the loss.

In regards to the pitch condition, it was very hard for us to play well as the condition was really bad. Vegalta Sendai players often kick long balls. By looking at the different play styles of both teams, it was harder for us to play on the pitch condition we had. Nonetheless, our team players performed well in a calm manner. Our players played in the opponent’s side of the pitch most of the time during the first half of the match.
However, they were not aggressive enough towards the end of the first half of the match in terms of attempting to scoring goals when making final ball passes.

During the second half of the match, our team controlled the match by pressing the opponent team. However, we lost our second and third goals by making our own mistakes. As for the second goal, our team was not able to get the ball in the center of the field and lost the goal by having a three-on-three type of situation. In regards to the third goal, you all know how it happened. I am sure our players would have been able to score another goal to catch up with the opponent team.

Though our team was able to make several decisive scoring opportunities throughout the match, unfortunately they were not able to make the most of such opportunities to their advantage. On the contrary, three scoring attempts by Vegalta Sendai happened to be all successful, which decided the final result for today’s match.

I thought our players performed really well despite the bad pitch condition we had today. I also believe that our players were certainly better than the opponent players in terms of the stamina. However, we must improve ourselves regarding the loss we had today. Though we obviously have to work on the types of mistakes we made today, I would like our players to perform like they did today when they play another match against Vegalta Sendai in the same stadium. Despite the fact that our team lost, I am confident that we are going in the right direction. I am proud of our players who put so much into their performance today. I would like to commend them for that.
