Team Manager Oswaldo Oliveira – press conference after the match against Nagoya Grampus

Comment from Team Manager Oliveira after the Meiji Yasuda J1 League 24th Sec match against Nagoya Grampus

Questions and Answers
Q: Kashiwagi was not even at the bench today. Had he been in his best condition, do you think today’s match result would have been a different one?

A: Kashiwagi is an important player and it was unfortunate that he was not able to play in today’s match. However, I believe Urawa Reds played well today. The team continued to create chances until the very end of the match. If we had been able to make the most of the chances we created and scored a few goals, the match might have taken a different path. Certainly, I always hope to have Kashiwagi play in all matches. But, I trust our team was able to play a good game without him today.

Q: How players maneuvered in front of the goal made the difference to the outcome of the match today. Do you think this difference between the two teams was a result of some luck or was there a tangible cause?

A: One of the reasons was our opponent player Jo, who is an excellent player, is difficult to mark. However, I also felt that referees were more lenient towards Jo. While a whistle was blown when Makino was clear, no whistle was blown when Muto fell over 30 seconds before that. I feel refereeing had some kind of impact on today’s match outcome.
