Team Manager Mischa - press conference after the match against Yokohama F. Marinos

Comment from Team Manager Mischa after the Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company J. League 1st sec match against Yokohama F. Marinos

Looking back at today’s match itself, we had a very interesting match. Having had five goals scored, I trust that those who watched the match really enjoyed it today.

As for us, we struggled to create good attacking formations during the first half of the match. Kashiwagi and Koroki positioned themselves a little too far behind with the aim to get the ball. As this was the case, we were not able to originate good attacks when we had the ball on our front line. As a result, our opponent team scored the first goal and they led the match for a while.

During the second half of the match, our team was able to control the match and we created many scoring opportunities. We have managed to catch up with our opponent and scored another goal to come from behind. However, Yokohama F. Marinos scored another goal from a corner kick to catch up with our score. Following that, Sekine got himself in with a good chance to score a goal by facing one-on-one with our opponent goal keeper. However, the scoring opportunity slipped away and our opponent team instead scored another goal in the end.

It is difficult to win a match like the one we had today without defending ourselves well and nailing the decisive chances we create. Generally speaking, we had the game under our control today and we had progressed the match quite well. However, we lost the match to Yokohama F. Marinos or more precisely to our opponent player Saito’s great performance.

Certainly, we were fully aware that Saito would be a very dangerous player and we had paid much of our attention to him. However, it was unfortunate that Saito won against us today.
