Team Manager Mischa - press conference after the match against Kawasaki Frontale

Comment from Team Manager Mischa after the Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company J. League 2nd stage 9th sec match against Kawasaki Frontale

Both teams played a fantastic game today. Today’s match was one of the best and rare soccer matches played in Japan.

However, as our team lost the match, it is not easy for me to make some comments.

Since I am the team manager of Urawa Reds, I am not sure if my view is objective but in my opinion, our team did a fantastic job and I think highly of their performance today. They were able to execute dangerous attacks with creative ideas against our opponent team several times and they created many decisive opportunities throughout the match.

However, our team lost two goals very naively in today’s very important match. We lost the match as a result of not being able to make the most of the opportunities we had created. It would be difficult to win a match when players cannot make the most of the chances they create while their opponent players nail the little opportunities they create. This made the difference between today’s victory and defeat.

Looking at the overall content of the match, I thought our team did better than our opponent team. However, it is true that their performance is only judged by the result. We aimed to achieve a positive result. But, unfortunately, we were not able to achieve the result we were after today.
