Team Manager Mischa - press conference after the match against Kashima Antlers

Comment from Team Manager Mischa after the Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company J. League 1st Stage 13th Sec match against Kashima Antlers

We knew before we played the match that it would be a difficult one as Kashima Antlers is a team with speedy attacks and abundant stamina. Both teams tried to keep each other in check during the first half of the match. Kashima Antlers’ strength is in their counter attacks after they have the ball under their control. For this reason, we were careful about making attacks against our opponent team. I thought our opponent team was able to run the match more dangerously during the first half of the match by trying to execute counter attacks against us as we were trying to carry on with our offensive without taking any risks.

However, I don’t think our team gave our opponent team any decisive scoring opportunities. When the second half of the match started, we continued to carry out the match cautiously. We progressed patiently and structured our offensive cautiously without taking risks. But, we lost a goal in an unfortunate way. However, after our team lost the goal, our players were able to carry out the match as they normally do by taking risks. Luckily, we finished the match today by coming from behind. But, considering both teams’ performance, it would have been justified if we had ended the match with a draw. Today’s victory may be a reward from God for playing a series of good matches in the J. League thus far. We must play a better game in the coming match against Sagan Tosu.
