Team Manager Mischa - press conference after the match against Jubilo Iwata

Comment from Team Manager Mischa after the Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company J. League 1st Stage 2nd Sec match against Jubilo Iwata

We lost the match very painfully today. Jubilo Iwata fought against us in a realistic manner but we were not able to play the type of soccer we had aimed to play against them. We were slow in our ball handling and we were lacking in smooth coordination off the ball as well as in our stamina. We were also not aggressive enough around the ball. Our team didn’t gain enough speed when running across the pitch towards the goal and the same was true about changing sides. To sum up, we were lacking many elements today which we usually possess when playing our style of soccer.

In addition to what I have just mentioned, our team lost goals after we lost the ball in terrible ways. It becomes difficult to achieve a good result when things like this happen one after another.

Our performance was far from good today and naturally the result did not turn out positively. It wouldn’t have been a surprise if both I, the team manager and our players were criticized. However, there are times when a team plays such a game especially during the early stage of the season. Today’s loss is certainly a painful loss. However, we must learn from the defeat and bring something positive towards our next match. We cannot afford to lose and always look down when playing soccer. We must put our chin up and move forward for our next match.

As it was our first home match for the season, so many of our fans and supporters came to the stadium to support us today. As the team manager, I feel terrible for not being able to fulfil their expectations today. We must perform better in the coming matches so that we can bring victories to our fans and supporters.
