Team Manager Mischa - press conference after the match against FC Seoul

Comment from Team Manager Mischa after the Japan Korea 50th Anniversary of Friendship 10th Saitama City Cup match against FC Seoul

To be honest with you, I had expected to see a better match today. I think our players found it difficult to execute our style of soccer where players pass the ball around to one another due to strong wind and the bad pitch condition. Our team lost a goal for no reason, which should not have happened. However, it is good to lose a goal now before we start playing J. League official matches.

Both teams played with strong determination and motivations for both the first and second half of the match today. From this perspective, our team did well though they should have adjusted themselves better and quicker to the pitch condition and the weather we had today. I thought our opponent team did better than us in this regard. Our players are required to adjust themselves well and more promptly in different surrounding environments in the coming weeks.

Our players played today’s match straight after the long travel and the change of climate conditions after the Okinawa Training Camp. Having said that, this type of scenario is something our players will have to experience over the coming season. For this reason, I regard today’s experience as something positive for our team.

It was also positive that we were able to assess how FC Seoul plays as we are going to play against them again in two weeks’ time.
