Team Manager Mischa attends post-match interview after the match against Suwon Samsung Bluewings

Comment from Team Manager Mischa after AFC Champions League, Group Stage MD1 match against Suwon Samsung Bluewings

We played such a hard and fierce match today. It was a very difficult match for both teams as it was the first official match for this season for both of us. As for the first half of the match, we were able to control the match relatively well. It was good that we managed to score a goal. However, Suwon Samsung Bluewings started to play aggressively and tried to take the ball away from the front during the second half of the match. Under such circumstances, our team lost a goal in an unfortunate way. The way the team lost the goal triggered some emotional damage.

However, after our opponent team caught up with us, we picked ourselves up and we controlled the match. Both Ugajin and Abe were presented with decisive opportunities. However, they were not able to make the most of these opportunities and the team lost another goal in a set play towards the end of the match. I don’t think our opponent team intended to execute the set play in the way they did. Nonetheless, we lost the goal then and the match finished after that. It was such a pity that our team lost the match. Considering how we played and the number of chances the team created, a draw would have been more appropriate. Though we lost our first match today, we will do our best in the remaining five matches in order to get past the group stage.
