Team Manager Mischa and Ugajin attend official pre-match press conference

An official AFC Champions League 2015 pre-match press conference was held at Robina Stadium in the afternoon on 4 May ahead of the group stage’s MD6 match against Brisbane Roar which will be held tomorrow. Urawa Reds Team Manager Mischa and player Tomoya Ugajin attended the press conference to answer Japanese and Australian media questions.

Comment from Team Manager Mischa
As you are aware, Urawa Reds were unfortunately not able to break through the group stage which we aimed to achieve as our first goal. We struggled to score points during the ACL this year. Nonetheless, looking back at every match we played, I thought our team performed very well. However, the fact that our good performance didn’t lead to positive results made us realize once again how difficult soccer can be. We will be playing a so-called throw away match tomorrow. However, we would like to leave the ACL by winning the match for the sake of our supporters, the club and Japanese soccer.

Comment from Tomoya Ugajin
As our team manager said, we were not able to go through the group stage of the ACL. However, we would like to play tomorrow’s match with the pride of us being Japanese and Urawa Reds, a big club in Japan. Urawa Reds is currently being led by Team Manager Mischa and I don’t think you can find any other greater soccer than ours in Asia. We would like to show our great soccer in Australia.
