Team Manager Mischa – press conference after the match against Western Sydney Wanderers FC

Comment from Team Manager Mischa after the ACL Group Stage MD1 match against Western Sydney Wanderers FC

During the first half of the match, though our team controlled the match, we struggled to score any goals. We were able to wage attacks well particularly on both sides but we lacked in precision when it came to last passes and kicks.

As we were not able to score any goals, though we were controlling the match, it was quite nerve-wrecking for us. We were playing against a strong opponent and we didn’t know how the second half of the match would pan out. However, we have managed to score the first goal. After having scored the first goal, our opponent team was forced to play more offensively, which created more space for our team to attack. As a result, we were able to score more goals.

If you just look at the final score, some may think our team won the match without much effort. However, this was not the case at all. The match was filled with tension. But, looking back at the overall match, I trust our team’s performance was deserving of the victory.

I regard Western Sydney Wanderers and Team Manager Popović very highly and I feel sympathetic for them. They had an unfavourable result today. But, I wish them the best for a good match and outcome in their next match.
