Team Manager Hori and Player Abe attend official interview session the day before the match against Chapecoense

The Suruga Bank Championship 2017 official pre-match interview session was held at Saitama Stadium on 14th August. Urawa Reds Team Manager Hori and Yuki Abe attended the interview session to express their excitement and determination for the upcoming match against Chapecoense.

Comment from Team Manager Hori
Frist of all, I wish to express our deepest condolences to everyone concerned for the horrific accident that took place in November last year. I would also like to show my great respect for those who have devoted themselves to recover the team to be where it was in a short period of time.

I trust that members of Chapecoense have done everything possible to prepare themselves well for the title match after their arrival in Japan on 12th August. I believe we can express our respect to them by preparing ourselves well and play a serious match against them. In addition, by playing great soccer, we would like to prove that soccer and sport can grant special power to us to overcome some difficult challenges. We will do our best to win a title tomorrow.

Comment from Yuki Abe
Hello everyone. As Team Manager Hori has just outlined, I too believe in the special power of soccer and sport that can invigorate people. As I trust that the match tomorrow will attract much attention not only in Japan but also in Brazil, I would like to play a fantastic match that inspires many people.
