I would like to commend all our players who played with strong determination – Team Manager Mischa

Comment from Team Manager Mischa after the J.League 27th Sec match against Tokushima Vortis

I assume I don't need to comment much on how the match unfolded. We played the match today under conditions where there were puddles of water on the pitch.

We knew we had to play today’s match with one less member from the start. For this reason, we couldn’t count on our goal keeper as one of our field players when making attacks.

I instructed the team that as soon as they had the ball they must kick a long ball behind our opponent players. This was the first time I have given such instructions to the team since I started to manage them. Considering the condition of the pitch, I knew it would not be possible for the team to execute their usual combination plays such as connecting short passes.

As this was the case, I told the team that our tactic must be to aim to get second balls while shooting many long balls. Our team was not only able to pick up many second balls based on their good predictions but also was able to press our opponent. I trust these elements contributed greatly to our victory. Our team was able to play the way they did today from the begging of the match through to the end. I praise their performance as worthy of the victory we had today.

I would like to commend all our players who played the match with such strong determination. With today’s victory, we would like to prepare ourselves well for the remaining seven matches during the upcoming short break.

I am also very grateful for those supporters who came to the stadium despite the bad weather today. Our supporters cheered us and pushed us until the last moment even when our team had a difficult situation as our opponent was leading the match by one to zero during the first half of the match. I would like to express our appreciation to our great supporters for their boost.
