I was able to sense our players’ strong determination to score a goal – Team Manager Mischa

Comment from Team Manager Mischa after the J.League 31st Sec match against Yokohama F.Marinos

We played our 31st Sec match a day later than all the other matches. For that reason, we took the results of other matches played yesterday into our consideration when we played the match today.

We had a good start to the first half of the match. However, we failed to make fierce attacks against our opponent after 15 minutes into the match. We had expected Yokohama F.Marinos to play very aggressively as it was a throwaway match played in their home stadium with many of their supporters watching. However, the initial impression I got from them was they would play a defensive match. Considering the number of supporters they had in their home stadium and the number of remaining matches to play, I thought they could have played more aggressively.

During half time, I observed how our players were when they came back to the locker room. I was able to sense a very strong determination in their eyes. Though today’s match was not played as gracefully as the team usually does, I was able to feel their firm determination to score a goal to win this desperate match. I knew that they would score a goal and they did so in reality.

We will have a three week break until our next match against Gamba Osaka. As the season is now entering the end stage, all our players are suffering from fatigue. As this has been the case, we would like to prepare well over the next three weeks by recovering and training ourselves well.
