After playing the match against Omiya Ardija-Team Manager Finke

Comment from Team Manager Volker Finke after playing in the J. League Sixteenth Sec. against Omiya Ardija

The match we had today was such a distressing match for our players, not to mention for our fans and supporters because the team could not carry out what was important, meaning kicking the ball into the goal mouth. I do not plan to make a detailed comment about why the team could not get the ball into the goal at the moment.
However, we should not forget that the team created many scoring opportunities. When players lose the first decisive scoring opportunity, they become mentally nervous. For this reason, even though our players went into crucial areas and penalty areas many times, they could not make the most of these opportunities to score goals. As the team went through such situations repeatedly, they became more nervous. I believe this was what happened on the pitch today.
In the situation when a team out numbers their opponent, like having 11 players against 10, they often makes mistakes. The team becomes fixated with the idea of breaking through the center. However, it is important for the team to make attacks on each side when they out number their opponent. I believe that our team put this idea into practice well today. When our players still had good energy players like Hirakawa and Sanou made attacks from the sides. I thought Ugajin who joined the team from mid-way through also carried this idea well. For this reason, I thought our team did well in terms developing the game from the sides.
Having said all this, I feel so angry that our team members made the match very difficult for themselves. For example, we had a very decisive moment three minutes into the first half of the match. Our team was able to score a goal as they were only about three to five meters away from the goal. The team would have scored the goal, if a member kicked the ball then. The kick Sanou made after that was only a few centimeters away from the goal. Our team members lost many decisive moments including the one I have just mentioned. In reality, our players were in the position in which they could have led the game. If we were able to score the first goal around that time, I could say the match we had today was reasonable. However, as the team missed the chance, we went on the path of losers.
