Notice of Renewal of Urawa Station Nakanoshima Underground Passage 'URAWA SOCCER STREET'

We are pleased to announce that we have recently renovated "URAWA SOCCER STREET," an underground passage approximately 54 meters long that connects the east-west connecting passage of JR Urawa Station and the Nakanoshima Bus Terminal on the west side.

"URAWA SOCCER STREET" was opened on March 16, 2018, with the cooperation of Saitama City and JR East, with the aim of becoming a local symbol that will be familiar to the people of Urawa, the "city of soccer," as well as many other visitors to the area.

Approximately eight years have passed since its opening, and with the aim of allowing more people to experience the vibrant soccer culture that thrives in Urawa, and to further promote "Urawa, the city of soccer" together with the local community, we have carried out this renovation.

In this renovation, we discontinued the video projections using the previously installed touch displays and projectors, and added new wall decorations.
The wall decorations consist of the following two types:

(1) A timeline design introducing the history of "Urawa, the city of soccer"

(2) A design for "Welcome to Urawa, the City of Soccer" featuring Saitama Prefecture mascots "Kobaton" and "Saitamachi", Urawa Reds mascots "Redia Family (Redia, Friendia, Schalekun, Diarachan)", and Saitama City PR character "Tsunagaryu Nuu".

We aim for the newly renovated "URAWA SOCCER STREET" to become a more familiar and welcoming place for the local community, as well as a place where visitors to Urawa can experience the charm of "Urawa, the city of soccer."

Urawa Reds will continue to work together with the people of our hometown, cherishing the football culture rooted in Urawa, and further promoting "Urawa, the city of football."
