On Wednesday, April 29th (a national holiday), the "Urawa Reds Heartful Cup 19th Smile Soccer Tournament" was held at Reds Land.
This tournament is held annually in collaboration with the Saitama Prefectural Association for Sports for Persons with Disabilities, with the aim of contributing to the healthy development of young people and fostering a culture where sports are an integral part of daily life, as stated in the club's philosophy. It is a continuous effort to create an opportunity for diverse people to interact and understand each other through soccer.

On the day of the event, the competition was divided into two divisions: 5-a-side football (for intellectually disabled individuals) and social football (for mentally disabled individuals). A total of 22 teams (over 200 participants) took part, and on each pitch, the players' serious expressions, along with the shouts of encouragement for their teammates and cheers from the benches, filled the venue with excitement.

Furthermore, after Trial, greetings and handshakes were exchanged spontaneously, transcending the outcome of the game, and smiles were seen everywhere. It was a day that reaffirmed the power of sports and the value of soccer in connecting people.

Team officials and parents who participated commented, "Even players who don't usually get many opportunities to play in Trial were able to take to the pitch in this tournament, and all the players were able to enjoy playing."


At the awards ceremony, the teams that placed first through third in each category were recognized, and the winning teams received certificates and trophies. The athletes looked full of accomplishment and expressed their gratitude to their teammates and everyone who supported them.
Thus, the 19th edition of this tournament concluded safely without any major injuries.

Urawa Reds will continue its activities toward realizing an inclusive society through soccer, while creating opportunities for everyone, regardless of disability, to enjoy and interact with each other.
