Ogihara and Tanaka visited the Saitama Prefectural Branch of the Japanese Red Cross Society.

On the 10th, Takuya Ogiwara and Yoshitaka Tanaka visited the Saitama Prefectural Chapter of the Japanese Red Cross Society as part of an initiative based on a cooperation agreement with the chapter.

Urawa Reds has signed a cooperation agreement with the Saitama Prefecture Chapter of the Japanese Red Cross Society and is engaged in various collaborative activities in the community, such as setting up Red Cross booths at home games, organizing disaster prevention events, conducting first aid training, raising awareness about heatstroke prevention, and promoting blood donation. This visit was conducted with the aim of conveying the importance of people supporting one another as a professional soccer club rooted in the community, and deepening understanding of Red Cross activities.

On the day of the event, under the guidance of staff from the Saitama Prefectural Branch of the Japanese Red Cross Society, participants experienced first aid using an AED, setting up a temporary relief station (air tent) used in the event of a disaster, making emergency food, and touring and riding in large disaster relief vehicles.
In the air tent setup experience, participants learned about equipment necessary for rapid rescue operations during disasters and actually experienced the setup process.

In the subsequent first aid training session using an AED, participants received explanations on the procedure for life-saving treatment and how to use an AED, and then had the opportunity to practice operating it.

In the emergency food preparation experience, participants learned about the importance of support activities by preparing and tasting "emergency food" that the Japanese Red Cross Society uses for meals for rescue workers when they work in disaster areas.

Afterward, participants had the opportunity to ride in a large disaster relief vehicle, received explanations about the functions and roles of vehicles used at disaster sites, and deepened their understanding of the Red Cross's disaster relief activities.

Through various experiences, both players deepened their understanding of Red Cross activities that protect human life, health, and dignity, and learned about the importance of support activities during disasters and the value of mutual support within the community. This visit was a valuable opportunity to raise awareness of disaster prevention and mitigation, as well as to deepen the club's understanding of social contribution activities as a community-based club.

"I've had the opportunity to participate in blood donation campaigns with the Japanese Red Cross Society before, but this time it was a different experience and I learned a lot. I had practiced chest compressions a few times at school, but I had forgotten a lot, so it was a good opportunity to learn again. I was able to deepen my understanding of disaster response and activities that support people, and it was a very meaningful time."

"Even things I thought I knew turned out to be confusing when I actually experienced them, which made me realize the importance of learning. It's rare to have the opportunity to actually eat emergency food, so it was a very valuable experience. I learned things that were different from what I learned in school, and the staff of the Japanese Red Cross Society explained everything clearly and carefully, so it was very educational."
