Today, May 31, 2026 (Sunday), at the JFE Hare no Kuni Stadium, during the first leg MEIJI YASUDA J1 100 YEAR VISION LEAGUE Round against Fagiano Okayama, an insulting act (raising the middle finger) by Ado Onaiwu towards Urawa Reds supporters was confirmed. We deeply apologize to everyone who came to the stadium today, and to all those who support Urawa Reds.

The incident occurred during an interaction between the players and Urawa Reds supporters when the players went to greet them after Trial. Following an on-site investigation by club staff immediately after the incident, testimony was obtained from Onaiwu himself and several Urawa Reds supporters confirming that the incident had taken place, leading our club to confirm the facts.

Onaiwu has expressed deep remorse for his actions. However, the club considers these actions to be contrary to Urawa Reds philosophy and Urawa Reds player philosophy, as well as to be contrary to sportsmanship, regardless of the circumstances. We will promptly endeavor to ascertain the details of this incident and deal with it strictly. We will inform you of the disciplinary action once a decision has been made.
