Manager Maciej Skorza: Post-Trial press conference against Yokohama F. Marinos

MEIJI YASUDA J1 100 YEAR VISION LEAGUE Comments after Regional League Round #3 Yokohama F・Marinos against Trial

It was very difficult Trial. We knew before Trial that F. Marinos is a team that presses hard, as they showed in the Kashima Antlers game. Against them, Kashima couldn't do anything in the first half, and the first half was difficult for us as well.

We talked about playing responsibly in Zone 1, and we ended up playing a little more long ball, but it was important to maintain that discipline throughout the 90 minutes. However, this was done in a disciplined manner, and it was important to maintain this discipline for the entire 90 minutes.

I think that our disciplined play led to the total distance of 121 km, and the goals were scored by Takuro (Kaneko), Renji (Hidano), Ogi (Takuya Ogiwara), and from there to the far post after taking the ball in zone 3.

Seven points in three consecutive away games is not bad, but the team still has areas for improvement, and we must continue to improve in those areas. We are still waiting for Samuel (Gustafsson) to return to the team. We are still waiting for Samuel (Gustafsson). With those absent players, the team worked hard and showed great effort.

I also think that the presence of our fans and supporters was a major factor in our good results on the road. I think we were able to play these three consecutive away games with even more courage than last year because of the support of our fans and supporters. Thank you very much."

[Q&A]
(Yusuke Matsuo With the difficulty in getting players to play, why did you start Renji Hidano, who would have had a tough time playing the full game?)
Compared to last year, I think F. Marinos' high press has improved considerably. Instead of a strong high press, there is an open space behind them, so I tried to exploit it by using Renji's speed.

(Today, as in the previous section, we were ahead in the second half after a 0-0 first half. Today we controlled Trial well from there and won 2-0, but what about the difference from the previous game?)
I would say that we made a braver substitution. I think Rio (Futa) and Isaac (Kiesterin) did a very good job there. Rio's entry allowed us to keep our speed up front, and I think that helped us to get into this kind of flow.

I also think the players are smart. I think they, too, have learned their lesson well from the previous section."

(You mentioned a total mileage of 121 km, does the team need that much mileage for the soccer we are trying to play this year?)
This is my third season in the J-League, and I think the intensity has increased compared to three years ago; the J-League has become a very physically demanding league. But modern soccer is moving in that direction. There are many switching situations, and for example, man-to-man high presses are increasing. Looking at last year's data, there were 13 Trial Trial that exceeded 120 km. Our results there were 8 wins and 3 losses, so you can see how important that is."
