Boza: "My first home goal was a special moment"
On the 20th, after the Meiji Yasuda J1 League Round 11 match against Yokohama F･Marinos, Danilo Boza, who scored his first goal since joining the team, spoke about the joy of the goal and the victory, as well as his enthusiasm for the future in light of the team's current situation.
"I think the goal was very important. The reason is that the opponent was playing very well and created some dangerous situations. I think that being able to score at that moment calmed the team down, and in the J.League, there are many cases where goals are scored at the last moment, so I'm glad that we were able to score."
(What about your first goal being at your home stadium, Saitama Stadium?)
"I'm very happy. It was a special moment for me to score my first J.League goal and my first goal for Urawa Reds at home. As a professional playing for this big club, I was very moved and happy to be able to score at home."
(Looking back on his battle with his opponent Anderson Lopez)
"He's a really good player, and he's played in the J-League for a long time and has produced good results. However, Marius (Hubraten) and I managed to contain him well today. We had to be very focused. He's a player who can score in one moment, so I tried to give him as little space as possible and to win the battle."
(I felt like you were not going to lose as a fellow Brazilian player.)
"We don't really think about it that much. We are both professionals, and we both have a strong desire to contribute to the team's victory. Whether we're Brazilian or Japanese, we want to win in every aspect for Urawa. The most important thing is for the team to win, so we want to win every battle against the opponent."
How do you perceive the reason for the team's success?
"We didn't get off to a good start in the league, but I feel that our teamwork has improved through these consecutive games. We would like to further improve our teamwork and grow as a team."
